Amorphis
Títle Eclipse (2006)
Label Nuclear Blast

These Finns use to leave us waiting for a long time. Almost three years have past since their "Far From the Sun", but it is true that all that time waiting was worth the effort.

Since their last album, there have been quite a few changes. In the first place, the famous vocalist Pasi Kokskinen has left Amorphis; however, the band has managed to find an artist of comparable skills. The chosen one has been Tomi Joutsen. Not only he does a good job coming close to the old frontman's vocal registers, but he also manages to add more variety and freshness.

Besides the change of vocalist, the band has also taken into account the nowadays successful sound of the bands Charon, Entwine and To/Die/For. Thus, they have taken some of these bands' sound and commerciality. But don't let this fool you. This mythical band has a strong personality and has kept its unique style. Some of the new songs remind us previous albums such as "Tuonela" and even "Elegy".

Who can resist the eclipse?
