I was told these guys were Happy Metal... Maybe I'm in such
a state that I hadn't realized that Dream Theater play Black
Metal.
Anyway, leaving all controversies aside, this is, if the information
I received is correct, their first release. Due to a series
of problems, they were forced to delay it at least a year. The
final result, however, hasn't suffered at all from these circumstances.
These French guys, in addition to the vocalist Ramon Messina,
known for his work in Secret Sphere, have created a power metal
album full of diverse details, like the neoclassical, jazz and
funk touches in specific parts, and a more than outstanding
technique.
The problem is that the songs lack a little catchiness. Let's
be more specific: the songs aren't bad. It is just a question
of it being difficult to assimilate them. They remind very often
of the old (or authentic) Helloween, especially in the singer's
vocal tones, as well as in some details, such as the backing
vocal composition, of Blind Guardian.
The truth is that these guys have been playing together for
over ten years, if I am not mistaken, and that shows in how
compact they sound, as well as in the technique they have acquired,
as I said before. I hope that this was only the appetizer and
that the next thing we hear from them is as pleasant as I am
bold enough to predict for them.
