Third
album of the most intimate and personal project of the multifaceted
Finnish singer Pasi Koskinen (Shape of Despair, To Separate
the Flesh from the Bones, ex Amorphis
). This is a dense
and dying Dark Metal record. Well, according to Pasi himself,
Ajattara is an old-school Black Metal project, although the
dark, oppressive mid-tempo environments and certain doom scene
influences lead me to comparing it more with bands such as
Bethlehem or Alastis than with old-school Black Metal ensembles.
"Tyhjyys" is a very homogeneous record, seamless,
compact, which does not seem to want to differ at any time
from its original script. All the tracks seem to have been
produced with the same pattern where the atmosphere plays
a predominant role. Thus "Tyhjyys" can be understood
as a whole, where every riff and melody fit into the profile
of a greater plan designed by Mr. Koskinen to make the listener
enter a vortex that only the creator of the work knows where
it ends.
A good extreme metal proposal for fans of dense and dying
music.
