Agathodaimon
Títle Serpent's Embrace (2004)
Label Nuclear Blast

When I knew Agathodaimon a few years ago, with their "Higher Art of Rebellion" release, they scarcely woke my curiosity up for a very successful aesthetics, and little more. I simply believed that they weren't offering very much in that moment and that their five minutes of glory would come hereinafter. It seems it'll be now. Their new cd "Serpent's Embrace" will not really manage to be the album of the year but it gives a good push to the rising career of the band. They have achieved so much eclecticism in their compositions and so much quality in their production that they'll make "Serpent's Embrace" to be a very attractive album for the people who pleases more melodic styles and for those who prefer something more forceful as well. In this respect, it is possible to say this is a "hinge" album between both scenes, being able to be the fishhook in order that those that do not have the extreme metal in their list of priorities show some kind of interest for a genre that, I am sure, can always contribute with something interesting.
