Agathodaimon
Títle Chapter III
Label Nuclear Blast

Third record, as the title so un-originally states, of this young black metal band.

In this new release, Sathonys and company offer us a step forward in the evolution of their musical project, where we can find a general improvement of the band at a technical, melodic and production level.

As a result of this evolutionary process, Agathodaimon progressively include more and more death and doom metal passages which, added to their black origins, result in a record with major doses of aggressiveness and darkness.

Throughout the three quarters of an hour the record lasts, we can find great songs such as "Paradise Beyond" or "Past Shadows", among others, that submerge you into this small world of depravity, depressive beauty and vampire tendencies that characterizes these Germans and that is so well expressed in the booklets of their CDs, actual works of art.

I would like to highlight the record's last song, "Burden of Time" above the rest, since it could be defined as 4 minutes of neck spasms, chaotic aggressiveness, blood boiling, veins standing out on foreheads, psychotic instincts and danger for any furniture close to the person listening to it; in other words, an extremely brutal way of ending a record.

Additionally, I would like to recommend a visit to the band's page at www.agathodaimon.de since, in addition to the usual picture, discography, history... sections, they have one where Sathonys, a great vampire enthusiast, tells us the stories of Vlad Tepes "the impaler", Elisabeth Bathory and other vampire legends that will make you want to suck the blood out of your third floor neighbor and impale her techno-listening brother.
